How does the security deposit work?
A $300 security deposit will be collected for each craft (jet ski or pontoon). A temporary hold will be placed on your card for the duration of your rental that will be immediately refunded as long as you bring the boat back in good condition.
Do I need a boater’s license in order to drive the pontoon or jet ski?
None of our rentals require a boater’s license. For the pontoons, we are able to issue temporary boater’s licenses that will certify you to drive the pontoon. For the jet skis, the driver must take a quiz that stands in place of a boater’s license. If you are interested in getting a Maryland boater’s license, you can learn more here.
Do I need to make a reservation or can I just walk in?
While reservations are not required, we do tend to fill up on reservations so it is always advised to make a reservation. If you do not reserve the pontoon or jet skis in advance, we cannot guarantee that we will have them available.
Can we hire a boat captain to drive our rental?
Funtime Watersports offers a boat captaining service at the rate of $50/hour. Reservations must be made at least two weeks in advance. Contact us via phone or email to book your timeslot and work out all appropriate details.

Our staff is dedicated to catering to your desired experience – from fast and adventurous to smooth sailing. We can recommend the best excursion time to fit your needs and provide training to ensure you feel comfortable and can focus on having fun!
Requirements:
– Each patron driving or renting the personal watercraft must provide photo identification.
– To rent, visitors must be at least 18 years of age.
– To drive, visitors must be at least 16 years of age.
– A $300 security deposit will be taken upon arrival, but returned with the safe return of the ski
– The watercrafts seat three people or up to 480 lbs.
– Visitors must wear bottoms that provide appropriate protective coverage. No bikini bottoms/speedos/similar apparel is permitted.
NOTICE
* WaveRunners and other PWC (private or rented) are not permitted on Deep Creek Lake between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays from July 1st through Labor Day, due to high boat traffic. Rentals will be offered before and after these hours, when water is safer for riders.
FAQ
How old do drivers/riders need to be?
Jet ski drivers must be at least 16 years of age with a valid photo ID (must include name, birth date, and a photo). Passengers can be any age, but our recommendation is 5 years of age or older.
What do I need to bring?
All drivers MUST bring a photo ID with them in order to drive the pontoons or the jet skis. NO exceptions.
Who will need to wear a life jacket?
Everyone on the jet ski will have to wear a life jacket at all times. We have life jackets available in sizes from infant up to 6XL.
What should I wear?
Riders should wear appropriate clothing for an outdoor activity where they may get wet. Riders MUST wear shorts or a similar clothing item that provides full coverage. Shoes may be worn or stored somewhere during the rental period.

Each boat is equipped with comfortable seating and easy-to-understand controls, along with a large canopy to keep your party shaded and cool during your lake cruise.
Looking for a whole day of fun? We provide all day rentals and ensure you have the equipment and knowledge to dock at local hotspots.
Looking for a shorter adventure? We offer rentals from 1 – 8 hours.
Requirements:
– Each patron driving or renting the boat is asked to provide photo identification.
– To rent, visitors must be at least 18 years of age.
– To drive, visitors must be at least 16 years of age.
– Drivers will be trained and temporarily certified.
– A $300 security deposit will be held at time of rental, but returned upon safe return of the boat.
– Each boat can hold 12 people or up to 1600 lbs.
FAQ
How far in advance do I need to arrive for my reservation?
We recommend arriving at least 20-30 minutes in advance to ensure that you do not lose time on your rental.
Can I bring my dog on the pontoon?
Dogs are allowed on our pontoons.
What do I need to bring?
All drivers MUST bring a photo ID with them in order to drive the pontoons or the jet skis. NO exceptions.
Does our entire party need to come to pick up the boat?
If you would like to pick up your passengers from an alternate location, you are free to do so, however, all drivers must come to the rental shop to fill out paperwork and receive instructions.
Who will need to wear a life jacket?
Children under 13 years of age must wear a life jacket at all times. People who plan to tube must wear a life jacket while on the tube. We have life jackets available in sizes from infant up to 6XL.
Can we fish off of the pontoon?
Yes, you may fish off of our pontoon boats. Fishers 16 years of age or older must have a fishing license. You can purchase a fishing license online here. Children under 16 can fish without a license.
